Several medications in pill form are commonly used as part of prostate cancer treatment, particularly for hormone therapy (androgen deprivation therapy, or ADT), which slows the cancer’s growth by reducing testosterone levels. Costs vary dramatically. Efficacies vary as well.
It would be advantageous to reduce testosterone levels for women who have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and for men who have prostate cancer. Chamomile contains phytoestrogen compounds that counteract the effects of testosterone.
