OLYMPIC ATHLETES – FAST FOODS DECREASE PERFORMANCE
Lawrenceville, NJ (Dr Simone) – Olympic athletes at Rio have many challenges. Among them is their choice of food and drink. They can get as much “fast food” and high-sugar, caffeinated drink that they want for free from the food court 24 hours a day. It has been reported that some athletes gorge themselves.
Research shows that a high-sodium, high-fat, high-sugar, high-caffeinated diet can dramatically decrease performance. Imagine what the performance could be if they did not consume these foods!
